wichita family photographer: blessed in the sun. blessed by the sun.

The sun today was food for my soul.

It felt like we have experienced weeks of cold grey gloom, and when the sun was out all day today I found myself noticing it and savoring it and appreciating it in places I haven’t before. I love that about the sun. It catches my attention, and fills up my cup.

I posted a sneak of this session late last fall with the following quote, and it made me think of my day today and the sun accompanying me throughout my day in unexpected places.

“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing,” Camille Pissarro.

Yes, yes. So very blessed.

wichita newborn photographer: baby girl perry

How gorgeous is little newborn Perry? I can only imagine the sweet sister shenanigans she and big sis Minnie will have as their relationship grows. These early days, weeks, months of having two so little go by so quickly…partly because as a parent of babes so close in age you are doing something alllllll the time. But also because it just flies.

Hold on tight, and enjoy, Z family.

wichita family photographer: feet in the sand, wind in their hair, love in their hearts

Ang plus her crew and I squeezed in this session between rain, and what a farewell to summer. These emulate that carefree time for me, and you can’t beat barefeet in the sand. So glad to have friends that show up to sessions ready to jump into the moment with both feet…literally and figuratively.

wichita baby photographer: tatum at home with her parents

Oh goodness, this late afternoon at this family of three’s home was just such a breath of fresh air for me! Such a gorgeous, well-curated space that I could tell Kenzie has soaked every ounce of herself into, finding special pieces to make it uniquely theirs. And then that paired with a darling cherub baby girl, and I was inspired and kind of had to kick myself out…even after saying, okay, just one more over here. And no really, just one more over here!

I tend to do that a lot. Ha!

wichita family photographer: nathan + erin + their three little littles

Oh goodness, I can so relate to Erin on so many ways. First, she’s a super successful, busy work-at-home mama/photographer who just so happened to have three babies, three and under like we did, so I see well into her eyes and can relate to the magnitude of work she does all day, every day (and many times deep into the dark of the night). So to take a break from the monotony and grind and celebrate the beauty that is also in this season is so, so important.

So much gratitude that things worked out for us to work together again.

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
