The Minted Model Contest

Here’s a big secret.

I have used minted.com for our Christmas cards the past two years, and they are always lovely.  I won’t say they always look the best of the bunch, but if you want to go ahead and say it for me, I won’t stop you.  Ha.

The paper quality is so good, and the designs show up the competition every year.  Hands down.

So, what seems like many months ago, when I saw that Minted was holding a competition for their 2011 Holiday Top Model Contest, I submitted photos of several past clients in the hopes my photography would be featured as examples on their site with this year’s new stash of card choices.

And it is.

HOLLA!

There are so many beautiful, happy families on cards this year.  Such an honor to have some of you represented, as well.

Now, don’t steal the best card design or I won’t tell you anything ever again.

Also, it’s the PERFECT time to schedule your family’s holiday card photo session this year.  Fall dates are filling up very quickly.  Contact me!  Soon.

hutchinson family photographer: the haltoms

I had so much fun with this group.  Sarah and I have been great friends since our Pi Phi days in college so it was a blast spending time with her, as well as with her family.  Especially since they took me on my first experience to the Kansas State Fair.  Wow.  What great people-watching.

And the corn dog wasn’t bad either.

Get ready for some very cute kid action.  Although Corrine was just iffy about me, I’m sure CJ and Will could have hammed it up all day in front of my camera.  Not that anyone was complaining.

I feel so blessed to be able to document your family at this stage, especially for something as important as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts.  Thank you!

wichita children’s photographer – the boye boy

Just over two weeks ago Andrew and I traveled back to Hiawatha to meet our new nephew, Kellen Thomas Boye.  He brings our niece/nephew total to two and two.  We are so excited he’s here, healthy and just so cute.  Where did all that hair come from?!  It’s a bit unfair to his older sisters as they were both baldies for a long time, but I’m sure they’ll get him back down the road by dressing him up like a doll, making him play Barbies, etc.

Considering we only took pictures for about 20 minutes, it’s crazy how much we accomplished.  And how much I learned.  Quinn told me Andrew picks his nose and pees the bed.  You think you know someone when you marry them…

Also goes to show how exhausted Noel and Hillary must be.  Ha.

Love these pics.  Love these kids.

wichita senior photographer – kailee

I love taking senior pictures.  Especially when my model is great looking and takes direction.  Winning combination!

Kailee was such a pro.  She looked amazing and photographs so well.  I love her ambition and am so excited for all of the life ahead of her.

Ah, to be young again.

Have a great senior year, Kailee!

wichita newborn photographer: mr greyson

As far as newborn shoots go, Greyson’s was pretty typical.  There were some yawns, a sneeze and a few other bodily functions.

And then a few tears.  (The baby’s not mine.)

But, he was a trooper as were mom and dad.  He was just as sweet as can be, and I couldn’t get over his blonde hair and stunning blue eyes.

The first born (aka dog Eddy) must not be easily impressed as you’ll see when he decided to boycott the family picture.

I have a feeling it won’t be long before these two guys are the best of friends.

Congrats Andy and McKenzie – and see you soon!

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
