wichita motherhood photographer: kristen with her son

I love the reason behind this shoot.

Just because.

For the details.

Since he’s getting so big.

To capture their connection and relationship.

To freeze this stage, to hold onto that last bit of little boy.

To do something just for them.

Kristen’s motherhood shoot below.

wichita maternity photographer: a boho mama-to-be

The morning I spent with Bianca and Travis was just a delight. Their love and interaction is genuine and pure; they are just over the moon about this sweet little girl about to make them a family of three, Bianca is like a glowing goddess making pregnancy look absolutely out-of-this-world gorgeous, and can we please talk about how gifted she is at curating her incredible home?  I was inspired by it all and could shoot this over and over and over again and not get bored.

I may just have to invite myself back over for coffee again soon.

So happy for you, T family!

wichita family photographer: a fall fairytale

Possibly my fave family session of the year?!  At least top 3.

It was the most gorgeous late fall afternoon, where the sun literally turned everything to gold. The styling was impeccable.

And the exploring felt like part of a fairy tale in this incredible warm light, with these three little girls leading the way, being so sweet with each other and just loving on their parents.

It truly felt like something special.

This season, this stage, those whispy baby hairs, crinkly nose smiles, gorgeous red curls tumbling down backs, little hands holding onto Blake’s fingers to twirl – all of it frozen in time to come back to these moments days, weeks, years from now to relive together.

wichita family photographer: the winchells

I had my parents location scout this for me since I wasn’t in Manhattan yet and we needed to make sure this special spot was available since we were all (Lora and I, plus all the stuff, plus all the people) coming from out of town and staying overnight at my parents after a K-State game to get this shoot in after we had been rained out a few weeks before.  They were pretty iffy if they had found the right spot, as was a passer-by, made clear when I overheard him say to my parents while we were Facetiming, “it’s not very scenic…just a bunch of scrubby bushes…probably not like she remembers it.”

Except, it’s exactly as I remembered it from when Bethany and I shoot swapped there a couple of years earlier, and thank goodness Lora had a bit more faith in me than my parents on this particular occasion.

Ha!

Oh goodness, I just love these people to pieces and so capturing this season for them, and all of the quirks and personality of their kiddos in this gorgeous crisp fall morning light is so special to me.

The first of many fall sessions I plan to share this week…

wichita family photographer: chasing the sun with the flurry family

Oh, the details in these!  Claire’s sweet curls, smelling roses, looking for flowers, nose kisses, and following the sun until it set for the night.  These are my most favorite moments, and I just adored capturing them for this family.  All of those ways these littles laughed and loved, perfect moments that represent this stage of life.

Ahhhh, this fall has been good to me.

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
