wichita maternity photographer: the j’s

This expecting couple shared their Friday evening with me, along with their excitement, anticipation and love for their little baby boy on the way.

No matter how many lives I get to be a part of through engagements, births, baby milestones, etc., it just never gets old.

Can’t wait to meet your little one, E + S.

wichita newborn photographer: sita

Sita, on the day of your newborn photos, you were one day past a week old.  It was four degrees out.  Snow was falling – the big, luscious kind of flakes that fall softly to the ground in the most beautiful way.  And despite lots of coaxing from your mama, dad, and I, you wanted nothing to do with a nice winter nap.

And so, you were snuggled, and cuddled, and kissed, and ahhhhed over instead.

And no one minded one bit.

Welcome to the world lovely girl!

wichita baby photographer: gage’s downtown donut one-year session

I know it’s only February, and there are so many 2014 session to come.

But.

This could very well end up being one of my favorites of the year.

Thank you to the Henson family for trusting me to shoot this session like I would have for my own family…as a mama I know the importance of getting the great smiley shots, but the in between…oh, the in betweens make it so much more special to me.

The baby blue eyes, chubby fingers, chubby toes, shy expressions, Frankenstein walk, and pure joy with every bite of that donut.

Happy one-year sweet Gage.

wichita baby photographer: six-month henry c

I love shooting at this family’s home.

Yes, their classic style is impeccable, and I may or may not be obsessed with their nautical nursery.

But most importantly, in their own environment, their entire family shines.  Case in point – I was there for Henry’s six-month photos, and little man couldn’t have been more dapper.  But without prompting (and in between play sessions with his grandmother), Frankie also had a few moments to shine too.

They both give their parents so much to smile about.

wichita maternity photographer: anne + ryan

Maybe it’s because I’m fresh into new mama role again with Nelle, just shy of eight weeks without my pregnant belly.

Maybe it’s because after experiencing it twice, I really can confirm that pregnancy is just the most amazing, beautiful time of a woman’s life.

Or maybe it’s because Anne just radiates joy at nearly 34 weeks about her baby boy on the way.

But whatever it may be, I’m at awe over how special it is to be able to preserve how she and Ryan are as a couple as they savor these last few weeks before their family of two becomes three.

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
