wichita maternity photographer: waiting on harrison

This family and I had to reschedule maybe three times?!  I honestly lost track…migraine, weather, hmmm, maybe it was just two times. Regardless, we were tempting fate by shooting near Emily’s 39 week mark for maternity pictures, the weather was up against us, and I was like, “what about shooting in your house?”, and then I arrived for our session, and I was like, “OMG why wasn’t this always the plan?!”.  Such a great space, and you just CANNOT beat the intimacy and coziness of shooting in your own home. You’ve poured your heart into your space, making it your own, making it feel like you, and especially in a nursery – the space where your heart is going to grow tenfold.

Just so happy for this now family of three!

wichita family photographer: bring the desert to kansas

Kenzie and I daydreamed about places we could shoot their family photos this fall. Totally accessible places from Kansas like Joshua Tree clear across the country. Ha! Even places like Castle Rock in Kansas seem out of reach when you’ve got a busy family and sweet new baby Benjamin to consider. So I scouted and racked my brain of where to take this fam, and then we found a spot that feels barren and sandy and pretty perfect for desert-like conditions…in Kansas.

Which I love.

Cool dudes, chubby baby cheeks, gorgeous mama with her impeccable styling, sunny skies, and just the right amount of breeze.

These are some of my faves.

wichita family photographer: a family of four, down by the river

These are the faces of friends that have become more like family to us. They’ve been there to welcome each of our babies, baptisms, birthdays, jobs. We’ve vacationed with them, camped with them, tailgated with them. They spent an entire Saturday helping us move everything we owned into our new house, scrubbed our old house with us, and didn’t complain once.

We adore you guys, and we love doing life with you!

wichita family photographer:

This family.

Friends that have celebrated new babies with us, new jobs, new houses, Friday nights, Saturday nights, and Sunday nights, texted pick-me-ups during the week, and been there to talk through hard times and life and what’s to come, traveled with us, cooked with us, drank with us, and just done life with us over the past six years (or has it been seven?).

They’re a good one.

wichita family photographer: A Boho Mama and Her Loves

Barefoot babes, those deep blue eyes, and all that blonde hair.  Ummmm, cutest little trio of kids and just the loveliest parents.  Wichita welcomes you!  These five are new transplants to our quaint city, and I’m so excited to see this family around town…I have a feeling we’re going to be running into each other at the park, our fave donut shop, the zoo, etc.

Get settled in…I’m totally oversharing this family because as I texted Whitney during an editing session, she’s amazing with her family!

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
