wichita children’s photographer: miss avery

Let’s cut to the chase.

Avery wasn’t too into me.  No, if we’re being honest, I have to say she wanted nothing to do with me.  (My feelings were only hurt a little.)

Regardless, I managed to sneak some precious moments between both she and her mom and she and her dad.  Although I don’t know if I’d call a stare-down between Avery and Brandon a precious moment.  More like a battle of wills.

Can’t wait to see how this little one grows over the next few months.  I have a feeling she’ll get sweeter and sweeter.

wichita children’s photographer: owen hands

I can’t believe Owen has already passed the four month mark.  Before we know it, he’ll be going to school, driving and chasing girls.  Just kidding, Nate and Laura.  You have time to prepare yourself for that.

Kind of.

He is going to be such a heart-breaker.  He obviously knows when to pile on the charm.  My camera and I were in a trance from all of the expressions, smiles and eye-batting.

See if you can spot his Zoolander “blue steel”.

And, I know you are all going to be thinking this so I’ll just go ahead and say it.  Motherhood is beautiful on Laura.  She has handled it with so much poise and grace…pretty much how she handles everything so there should be no surprise.  And, Nate totally has that proud papa look down.

As he should.

wichita family photographer: the millers

I loved meeting the Miller family last Saturday morning.  I mean, who doesn’t love photographing such beautiful and photogenic people, but beyond that, they have such an easiness around each other that they made my job such a joy.

A walk in the park really.

Tad, Maria and Gabe – had a great time.  ENJOY!

Wichita Maternity Phtographer: Cody and Katie, and Ella on the Way

Andrew and I hit the jackpot when we found Katie to be our real estate agent while house hunting two years ago.  Someone who can put up with Andrew’s bluntness and my pickyness for several months – that’s saying something.  I was thrilled when I found out Katie and her husband were expecting, and even more excited when she called to schedule a shoot.

Especially since we met at her parent’s peach farm.  If you live in Wichita and you haven’t been…well.  You are missing out in a major way.

Cody and Katie, you will be great parents.  Your easy way with each other, genuine respect for your relationship and sense of humor will give Ella everything she’ll ever need.  Plus if she has a bad day, you can always just give her a few peaches.  Sure would cheer me up.

Can’t wait to meet her!

wichita family photographer: THE BROWN FAMILY

The second of my holiday weekend red-white-and-blue families!  But, as Mitch pointed out, they really should have worn brown.  Because they are the Brown family.  Haha.  Mitch has always been funny…I should know…he was my boyfriend in fifth grade.

And while I loved the Brown family when it was just Mitch and Jenny, I just can’t get enough of them now that they have added Brendan to the mix.

He has got to have some of the best facial expressions – hands down.

10 points to whoever guesses which picture shows his face when he first saw Franklin inside through our back French doors.

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
