This is the first of my red, white and blue family posts. Unbeknown to me, they both must of had the holiday weekend on the brain when they planned their portrait outfits. I can’t say I mind; I love a good classic.

I know there are people waiting to see these pictures…Mom and Dad sure, but also an aunt or two…so let’s get to them!

But, before you view the slide show below, I just can’t not say anything about baby Mallory’s stunning blue eyes.

They have such a sparkle in them.

wichita children’s photographer: Parker + Family

I had the honor of taking some new family shots for friends on Sunday morning before they leave on their new adventure taking them to Europe. And it was a blast. Kind of crazy at times with so many people, but you can just see the love oozing from these pictures. Those are the best families to take pictures of. I love smiling faces, but it’s what’s beyond that that really makes these special.

Of course Brady, Sam and Parker will be missed like crazy, but I have a feeling they will have lots of visitors as they settle into their new home.

wichita maternity photographer: The Simmers

Once again, I have friends who will soon be parents. I think it’s officially safe to say Andrew and I have moved from the wedding phase of our life to the baby phase of our life. How exciting! (To clear up any speculation, I mean baby phase for everyone else. At this time. Thank you.)

I’ve known Heath for a long, long time. We both grew up in the same small town, worked together (actually twice – once in high school and once in college), and have been friends and will be friends for a long time. Because of course I like him, and he’s good buddies with Andrew, but also because his wife Stacy and I just always have such a good time together. Give us a bottle of wine and a place to catch up, and we will talk and talk and talk until the boys say it’s time to pack it in. They’re both great people and will be amazing parents together.

It won’t be long before baby Hannah arrives; she is going to be beautiful and so loved and adored.

Can’t wait to meet her.

I had the honor of taking our nephew’s photos this past weekend. He is ONE! How has it already been a year since Andrew and I sat in the waiting room for many, many hours waiting for him to arrive? Lucky for his parents, he has been such a good baby – just a happy boy who is quite the charmer in front of the camera.

Can’t wait to see you continue to grow and change. Will you still dress like your daddy? Be tall like your mommy?

Only time will tell.

Lacey just turned one, and her momma thought it was a great time to take pictures of her youngest. Smart mom.

Her family is really great – easy going, familiar and entertaining. Especially when older brother Lance gets in on the action.

We had to work for our smiles, but with Lacey even the frowns are cute. In fact sometimes I like them better. The just-a-bit-off, not quite looking at you pictures. They just seem a bit more real. I like real. And natural.

And we got it.
