wichita family photographer: my first 365

I started a 365 project this year.

My first ever.

Shooting a photo every day for an entire year…it’s overwhelming, but I’m loving the challenge of looking at composition and light differently as I capture my children throughout 2016, particularly as we’re mostly inside during this long stretch of cold and grey.  The monotony forces me to look at our space differently and search for hidden pockets of inspiration I didn’t see before.

A month in and there have been days I’ve been inspired to shoot more and more, and conversely, there are days I’m fighting insecurity, drained creativity, and uncooperative subjects (ha), but I’ve pushed through.  That’s life.

I can’t wait to see how this influence my professional work.

My first month below.

30/366

(Because I caught a nasty bug on the 30th that forced me into bed, and because it’s a leap year.)

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
