wichita baby photographer: sloane evelyn

Can’t stop pouring over this session in Kelsey’s well-curated home she’s spent making for her family of four.

It’s a space filled with beauty, but most of all filled with lots of love and laughter.

Baby Sloane at six months, below, completely adored and precious.

wichita newborn photographer: maeve

All this family’s love wrapped up in the biggest blog post ever for their sweet new girl, Maeve.

What a gift to give to them, and what a gift for me to receive to get to share and experience a sliver of it.

I have the best job.

wichita family photographer: fall dreams

My spring is booking up, but I’m also already booking well into the fall, and I think it’s because we’re all daydreaming about days like this again.

wichita baby photographer: caroline at home

These are quickly becoming my favorite sessions to shoot.

Maybe it’s because of the season.

The winter weather – more times full of grey skies and biting temperatures – isn’t exactly conducive to happy-kiddo shoots outdoors.

But more so because of what they’ll mean in the days, weeks, and years to come.

A snapshot of the way a family lives and loves, within the walls most sacred to them.

Where they share meals together, secrets together, dreams and realities together.

They open their door and hearts to me, and I do the same for them, pouring myself into capturing the moments that matter most, yet are often overlooked in the monotony of day-to-day.

An afternoon with the Elliots below.

Thank you for welcoming me into this season of life.

wichita family photographer: my first 365

I started a 365 project this year.

My first ever.

Shooting a photo every day for an entire year…it’s overwhelming, but I’m loving the challenge of looking at composition and light differently as I capture my children throughout 2016, particularly as we’re mostly inside during this long stretch of cold and grey.  The monotony forces me to look at our space differently and search for hidden pockets of inspiration I didn’t see before.

A month in and there have been days I’ve been inspired to shoot more and more, and conversely, there are days I’m fighting insecurity, drained creativity, and uncooperative subjects (ha), but I’ve pushed through.  That’s life.

I can’t wait to see how this influence my professional work.

My first month below.

30/366

(Because I caught a nasty bug on the 30th that forced me into bed, and because it’s a leap year.)

ABOUT US

"It's a feeling."

One of the best ways I've heard my work described.

It's like a dream you can't quite get back to, but you know was so so good because when you woke up you had a smile on your face, and you keep trying desparately to remember all of the vivid details you can be present in that in-between state for just a little more  - the warmth of being together, the sounds, the laughter...the feelings.

Here's more on what our work together could be.
